CAZENOVIA, NY (04/11/2012)(readMedia)-- The Cazenovia College Art Gallery in Reisman Hall will host the annual Bachelor of Fine Arts Exhibitions from now through May 1. The exhibition will include work by visual communications, studio art, photography and interior design degree candidates from Cazenovia College's Division of Art and Design.

Kira Marie Cline, of Ithaca, N.Y., is majoring in studio art, specializing in photography with a minor in art history. Her exhibition, titled "Perceptions in Red," runs from April 26 to 30, with a reception on April 26 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Cline grew up on a small island off the coast of Portland, Maine, before moving to Ithaca at the age of ten. Having very artistic parents, she was raised in an environment where creativity was encouraged. She spent a large portion of her childhood working on miscellaneous art projects and observing her mother, an interior designer, and her father, an architect, as they produced their own work. Cline's innate desire and need to create has been continuously nourished throughout her experiences in Maine and Ithaca, her summers spent at a Buddhist retreat camp during her teen years, her time in college, and her travels around the U.S. and Europe.

Of her art, Cline writes, "Art is more than a final product. The process through which the work is formed is equally significant to me. My senior exhibition has been a one year exploration into my own reasons for generating artwork. My creative process is like an invisible container that provides a quiet space for reflection, awareness, and mindful meditation. The collection of seven-inch-long, free-association drawings on fabric, completed with red Sharpie marker, is the tangible product of my intangible daily experiences."

The Cazenovia College Art Gallery in Reisman Hall, 6 Sullivan St., is on the corner of Sullivan and Seminary streets in Cazenovia. Hours during the academic year are: Monday through Thursday, 1-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.; Friday, 1-4 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday, 2-6 p.m. Summer hours vary.
