Kirk Andrew Whitehead Inducted into Phi Beta Kappa at Wofford College

SPARTANBURG, SC (04/28/2010)(readMedia)-- Wofford College senior Kirk Andrew Whitehead was accorded Wofford College's highest academic honor Thursday, April 22, when he was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.
Whitehead is majoring in finance with minors in economics and mathematics. A recipient of the Benjamin Wofford Scholarship and the Marvin L. Holloway Scholarship, Whitehead is a four-year member of the golf team, serving as captain of the team this year. Each year during his tenure at Wofford he has been named by the Southern Conference to its academic honor roll recognizing outstanding student-athletes. Whitehead's campus activities have included membership in Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and serving as a portfolio manager of the James Student-Managed Investment Fund. During his senior year, Whitehead participated in the Southern Investment Research Challenge, a stock research competition, in which Wofford's team advanced to the final four teams. A candidate for a B.A. degree in May 2010, Whitehead plans to pursue his career as a financial analyst with Johnson Automotive in Spartanburg, S.C. Twenty-nine Wofford College students and recent graduates were initiated as members-in-course during the ceremony that marked the 69th anniversary of Phi Beta Kappa at Wofford.
