BATAVIA, NY (05/17/2012)(readMedia)-- Corey Kocent, a resident of Batavia, NY (14020) was named to the Region III men's golf All-Region team for the 2012 season.

Kocent finished second in the Region III Tournament, shooting a two-day total of 149 at the Cortland Country Club earlier this week.

With his second place finish, Kocent has qualified to participate in the NJCAA National Golf Tournament which will be held June 4th through the 8th at the Chautauqua Golf Course in Chautauqua, New York. Kocent with be the lone Cougar to participate in the tournament this year.

Genesee Community College athletics program endeavors to provide a quality and competitive intercollegiate athletics program consistent with the National Junior Collegiate Athletics Association (NJCAA) philosophy and the overall educational mission of Genesee Community College.
