GETTYSBURG, PA (04/06/2012)(readMedia)-- Kristen Phillips, a Senior at Gettysburg College presented a senior recital on March 31 in Gettysburg College's Paul Recital Hall located in Schmucker Hall on the Gettysburg College campus. Phillip's program included a variety of musical theater pieces and art songs, with a special emphasis on various settings of the same text. Ranging in style from classical to modern, the recital included pieces sung in English, French, German, and Italian. Featured composers include Richard Strauss, W.A. Mozart, Henri Duparc, Jacques Offenbach, Dominick Argento, and Roger Quilter, with opera duets from works such as Le Nozze di Figaro and Les Contes d'Hoffman.
Founded in 1832, Gettysburg College is a highly selective four-year residential college of liberal arts and sciences with a strong academic tradition that includes Rhodes Scholars, a Nobel laureate and other distinguished scholars among its alumni.
