MARIETTA, OH (02/09/2011)(readMedia)-- Eight hours a day for five consecutive days, Krystyna Foley '11 (North Olmsted, Ohio) will spend her Spring Break with two dozen or so friends. However, there's a twist.

Foley and the other Marietta College students will be in New Orleans working with a nonprofit called "Relief Spark." Landrie expects the experience to benefit her twofold.

"This is my second time on the ASB New Orleans trip. I learned so much my first trip about New Orleans and what still needs to be done their to improve the community," she said. "I am fortunate that I am able to return to New Orleans again to continue in the rebuilding process. I hope to meet more amazing people on this trip and to have more unique experiences volunteering. Volunteering is a rewarding experience-its about human connection, working with other volunteers painting a house or fixing a fence. To me, this is not about rebuilding houses, or buildings but the community of New Orleans."

Foley was also chosen as one of four group leaders, along with Cody Clemens '13 (Malta, Ohio), Taylor Landrie '13 (Buckhannon, W.Va.) and Dante Sherman '11 (Cleveland, Ohio).

Marietta College's Spring Break is March 5-13.
