HERKIMER, NY (03/22/2012)(readMedia)-- Herkimer County Community College baseball pitcher Kyle Schwartz, Patchogue, NY (Medford High School) has been named Region III Male Co-Athlete of the Week. He posted a 2-0 record for the week, knocking off a pair of nationally ranked teams. Schwartz pitched 5 2/3 innings against then ranked #4 Suffolk CC, in which he allowed no earned runs and one hit. Schwartz then faced current #11 Montgomery College of Germantown and pitched a complete game allowing no earned runs. Schwartz went 12 2/3 IP allowing six hits, three walks, and no earned runs while striking out four. He is a Business: Accounting major at Herkimer. Schwartz shares the co-athlete honor with Connor Latimer, a lacrosse player from Genesee Community College.
