LVC to Present "Sitting in Circles with Rich White Girls: Memoirs of a Bulimic Black Boy"

ANNVILLE, PA (03/01/2012)(readMedia)-- Lebanon Valley College will present Chad Goller-Sojourner's "Sitting in Circles with Rich White Girls: Memoirs of a Bulimic Black Boy" on Tuesday, March 20 at 7 p.m. in the Leedy Theater of the Mund College Center. Admission is free and open to the public.
"Sitting in Circles with Rich White Girls: Memoirs of a Bulimic Black Boy" is a series of monologues, written and performed by Chad Goller-Sojourner, who describes himself as "fat, dark-skinned, gay and adopted by white folks." His story addresses issues of identity construction-race, sexuality, weight, and self-image. Seattle Weekly calls Goller-Sojourner a "heartbreaking and hilarious storyteller."
Chad Goller-Sojourner is a Seattle-based writer and performer, and recipient of a 2008 Artist Trust/Washington State Arts Commission Performing Arts Fellowship. He published the chapbook "Born One Thousand Years Too Early: Fat, Dark-Skinned, Gay and Adopted by White Folks." He also served as the creator, artistic director, and executive producer for the People of Color Against AIDS Network's "Standing in the Gap-and Speaking Their Names-Black Gay Poets Honor Their Ancestors: A Spoken Word Requiem."
