LAKE FOREST, IL (01/12/2012)(readMedia)-- Lake Forest College swimmer Becky Shaak (Vienna, Va./James Madison) was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Tuesday for her performance in the Foresters' double-dual victories over Willamette University and host Soka University of America on Saturday.
Shaak and teammates Loren Dutca, Kelsie Miller, and Kelsey Hoeper began the meet by winning the 200-medley relay in 2:00.56.
Shaak also placed first in the 100-butterfly with a time of 1:06.86 and touched the wall first in the 100-breaststroke in 1:11.34.
Shaak has now won all five of her individual events in dual meets this season. She owns the fastest times in the conference in the 200-freestyle, 1650-freestyle, 200-breaststroke, 200-IM, and 400-IM. She also ranks first on the team in the 1000-freestyle and 100-breaststroke.
Midwest Conference Performers of the Week are selected by the league's sports information director. Shaak also earned the award once last year and three times as a freshman.
