DANVILLE , IL (01/02/2020) (readMedia)-- Kiersten Emberton recently completed a master of science in nursing degree through the family nurse practitioner track at Chamberlain University.
Emberton, graduated from Lakeview College of Nursing in 2016. She then gained experience working in the labor and delivery department as well as the emergency department of Sarah Bush Lincoln prior to returning to Lakeview to teach in 2018. She currenty instructs in the area of medical-surgical nursing.
Pursuing her master's degree was prompted by Emberton's desire to expand her medical knowledge and role within the healthcare team. "Patient care is my passion and I knew earning an MSN, specialized in primary care, would allow me to continue providing holistic care to my patients," explained Emberton.
Shortly after completing the degree, Emberton passed a certification exam through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners in order to earn the credential Family Nurse Practitioner - Certified (FNP-C).
She plans to pursue career opportunities within family practice and continue working at Lakeivew to instruct future nurses.
Emberton resides in Charleston with her husband, Cody, and their son, Clark.
