Lakewood Native Stephen A. Ford Earns M.B.A. from Penn State Behrend
ERIE, PA (05/28/2013)(readMedia)-- Stephen A. Ford, of Lakewood, has received a Master of Business Administration degree from the Sam and Irene Black School of Business at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College.
More than 670 degrees were conferred during Penn State Behrend's spring commencement ceremony, which was held May 3 at Erie Insurance Arena. Dr. Joshua Shaw, associate professor of philosophy, addressed the graduates.
"You will face challenges -- tougher ones, I suspect, than what I faced when I graduated," Shaw said. "No advice I can give you will be adequate to prepare you for them, because if there is one thing that's true about life, it's that it's always more complicated than the advice we give about it.
"But that's OK," he said. "Because if there is one truth about people -- a truth you've shown over the past few years -- it's that we are more resourceful than the challenges life gives us."
