AURORA, IL (09/12/2013)(readMedia)-- Aurora University senior punter Ryan Mizgate (Lansing, Ill./Thornton Fractional South H.S.) was named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Football Special Teams Student-Athlete of the Week for the opening week of 2013.
Mizgate booted six punts for 299 yards, an average of 49.8 yards per punt. The senior's long of 80 yards set an AU and Vago Field single-game record. He also had four of his punts downed inside the 20 yard line.
Next action for the Spartan football team comes on Saturday, September 21 when they travel to Albion College. Game time is set for 1:30 p.m. EST in Albion, Mich.
