Lane Closures and Stoppages on Interstate I-476 to Impact Traffic at Mid-County

PennDOT Construction southbound between Turnpike Interchange and I-76 will close lanes overnight.

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA (10/12/2010)(readMedia)-- The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission advises motorists traveling I-476 to stay alert for slow-moving or stopped traffic when exiting the PA Turnpike system at the Mid-County Interchange early Wednesday morning through Saturday (Oct. 13-16). Both express lanes and all conventional E-ZPass and cash lanes will remain open.

PennDOT construction crews will close two lanes, with periodic traffic stoppages of up to 15 minutes, on the southbound side of the Blue Route between the Turnpike's Mid-County Interchange and I-76 (Exit 16) starting early morning Wednesday (Oct. 13) between 12:01 a.m. and 5 a.m.

At 7 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights (Oct. 13-15) until 5 a.m. the following morning, one of the two lanes on the southbound side will be closed with periodic 15 minute stoppages scheduled Thursday morning between 12:01 a.m. and 5 a.m.

Motorists should proceed with caution traveling through PennDOT construction on the Blue Route and be prepared for overnight lane closures and periodic stoppages. PennDOT will provide tow truck coverage within the construction area to assist motorists and quickly remove disabled vehicles from I-476.
