Lane Restrictions Scheduled Between Irwin and New Stanton Interchanges

Continuous 56-Hour Single Lane Pattern Needed for Traffic Shift

NEW STANTON, PA (10/11/2011)(readMedia)-- Motorists on the Pennsylvania Turnpike mainline will encounter single-lane patterns between Mileposts 66.4 to 71 westbound and eastbound starting at 10 p.m. Fri., Oct. 14 until 6 a.m., Mon., Oct. 17. The pattern will begin four miles west of the New Stanton exit (#75) and end 1 mile west of the Irwin exit (#67).

The restriction is needed to move concrete barrier, transition paving, and paint lines to accommodate a traffic stage switch as part of the MP 67-74 total reconstruction project. Once the contractor begins work the patterns must stay in effect until all work is completed. This work will proceed as weather permits.

Motorists should anticpate delays during Saturday and Sunday daylight hours while the single–lane patterns are in place.
