Lane Restrictions Scheduled This Week Between Lehigh Tunnel and Mahoning Valley Exit
Overnight single lane patterns to impact traffic on the Northeastern Extension in Carbon County.
KING OF PRUSSIA, PA (09/13/2010)(readMedia)-- The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is advising motorists traveling on the Northeastern Extension (I-476) of the PA Turnpike between the Lehigh Tunnel and Mahoning Valley (Exit #74) Interchange to be prepared for nighttime single-lane patterns to impact traffic Monday through Thursday (Sept. 13-16) starting at 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.
Crews will begin performing bridge deck repairs northbound closing the left lane on Monday (9/13) and the right lane Tuesday (9/14). Work will continue southbound in the left-lane on Wednesday (9/15) and the right-lane Thursday (9/16).
Motorist should be aware of the potential for delays while the single–lane patterns are in place. All work will be conducted overnight between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. the following morning. Motorists traveling northbound and southbound should stay alert for slow moving or stopped traffic within the project work zone located between milepost A74-A76 until crews are off the roadway. The contractor's schedule is dependent on the weather and subject to change.
