Lane Restrictions Scheduled to Begin This Weekend Between Irwin and New Stanton Interchanges

NEW STANTON, PA (08/24/2010)(readMedia)-- Motorists on the Pennsylvania Turnpike mainline will encounter single-lane patterns between Mileposts 66.4 to 73 eastbound starting at 11:59 p.m. Fri., Aug. 27 until 11:30 p.m., Sat., Aug. 28 and between Mileposts 74 to 70 westbound starting at 9 a.m. Sat., Aug. 28 until 6 p.m., Sun., Aug. 29.

The restriction is needed to move concrete barrier and paint lines to accommodate a traffic stage switch as part of the MP 67-74 total reconstruction project. Once the contractor begins work the patterns must stay in effect until all work is completed. This work will proceed as weather permits.

Motorist should be aware of the potential for delays while the single–lane patterns are in place.
