POTSDAM, NY (07/26/2010)(readMedia)-- Larry D. Kingsley of Lake Bluff, Ill., president and chief executive officer of IDEX Corporation, has received the Golden Knight Award from his alma mater, Clarkson University.
Presented each year during Reunion Weekend, Clarkson's most prestigious alumni award is given to alumni who have distinguished themselves either by service to Clarkson through Alumni Association activities or have demonstrated outstanding career achievement, bringing distinction to themselves and to Clarkson.
Kingsley received his bachelor of science degree in industrial engineering and management from Clarkson in 1985. He holds a master of business administration degree from the College of William & Mary.
Kingsley was appointed chairman and CEO of IDEX Corporation in 2006. IDEX is a manufacturer of pumps and metering products, dispensing equipment for color formulation, and other highly engineered products with leading positions in niche markets. Its products are sold to a wide range of industries throughout the world.
Kingsley was appointed president and chief executive officer of IDEX in 2005, having served as chief operating officer at the company since 2004. Prior to joining IDEX, he progressed through a series of increasingly responsible positions at Danaher Corporation, including corporate vice president and group executive.
Prior to Danaher, Kingsley held several positions with Kollmorgen Corporation, including vice president and general manager for European operations. Prior to Kollmorgen, Kingsley was vice president of marketing for Weidmuller Incorporated.
Kingsley currently serves on the Cooper Industries board of directors, the IDEX board of directors, the Junior Achievement of Chicago board and as a trustee for the Museum of Science and Industry, as well as on the Clarkson Business Leadership Council.
He lives in Lake Bluff, Ill. with his wife, Diane. They have two children, Carol and Andrew.
