Lauren Anna Holland Inducted into Phi Beta Kappa at Wofford College

SPARTANBURG, SC (04/28/2010)(readMedia)-- Wofford College senior Lauren Anna Holland was accorded Wofford College's highest academic honor Thursday, April 22, when she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.
Holland, who transferred from Rhodes College to Wofford College in 2007, is completing a B.S. degree in psychology and a minor in philosophy. A recipient of an Eleanor Dana Scholarship, Holland has been named to the Dean's List each semester. She has been a member of the Success Initiative, a Wofford Ambassador, and has served as a peer tutor. Holland obtained a QUEST grant through the Success Initiative to fund her summer research on nutrition, working on organic research farms, and shadowing a leading agricultural scientist at Monsanto. Holland also worked with Dr. Kara Bopp and Jeremy Jones to coordinate the Living Words creative writing program for individuals with dementia and their caregivers. A candidate for the B.S. degree in May 2010, Holland will enter the doctoral program in clinical psychology this fall at Florida State University. Twenty-nine Wofford College students and recent graduates were initiated as members-in-course during the ceremony that marked the 69th anniversary of Phi Beta Kappa at Wofford.
