NEWTON, MA (04/06/2010)(readMedia)-- Nairomi Inoa, a native of Lawrence, MA and graduate of Greater Lawrence Technical High School, was selected as a finalist in Boston Symphony Orchestra's Project Tchaikovsky contest, a unique competition featuring fashion inspired by the music of Pytor Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The event is scheduled in conjunction with upcoming BSO concerts featuring Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 2, Little Russian, on April 13 and 15 at Symphony Hall.
Nairomi, a junior fashion design major at Mount Ida College, was one of ten finalists selected from greater Boston area colleges. As a finalist, Nairomi received $100 toward the production of her design, which will be presented on Thursday, April 15 to a panel of judges. The winner of Project Tchaikovsky, which will be announced in a fashion show after the concert on April 15, will be featured in Boston Magazine and receive dinner for two at the Oak Room. Additional prizes have yet to be announced.
