ANNVILLE, PA (02/04/2016)(readMedia)-- The Lebanon Valley College Chamber Choir will participate in "Mission: Sing!" at the Hershey First United Methodist Church on Feb. 20 starting at 7:30 p.m. Dr. Matthew Erpelding, LVC assistant professor of music and director of choral activities, will direct students as they perform alongside the Central Dauphin Chamber Singers and First United Methodist Church Sanctuary Choir.

This concert is an opportunity for local choirs to collaborate for charity. There is no cost to attend, but a free will offering will occur with proceeds benefitting Mission Central, a local charity.

Mission Central works to provide disaster response, missional outreach, and missional education locally and globally. The charity was established in 2002 and is a member of the UMCOR Relief Supply Network. They assist people through national and local programs in the Central Pennsylvania area.

The goal of the concert is to use art to support local charity and it is a new opportunity for Chamber Choir.

Dr. Erpelding believes "it's important to serve through music. It's art that can serve a purpose and we wanted to support a local charity we had an affinity with."

The 23 student singers will perform a variety of songs, ranging from popular tunes to spirituals, gospels to classical, and even some new art pieces. There will be a song for everyone to enjoy. Please visit www.lvc.edu/music/events.aspx for concert updates.
