ANNVILLE, PA (02/07/2013)(readMedia)-- Lebanon Valley College's Chapel Concert Series will feature the worship music of Kim Goss on Wednesday, February 27 at 7 p.m in Miller Chapel with opening act Matthew Topping '13 and Sarah Herb '13.
Kim Goss is a gifted singer, songwriter and worship leader from Lancaster, Pa., perhaps best known as worship leader with her husband, Matt Goss at LCBC Church, conferences, and events throughout the Northeast. Last summer, Kim Goss played at Creation Festival NE in Mt. Union, Pa. She sang for President Bush several times during his administration, and has performed with Brian Doerksen, Rita Springer, Lincoln Brewster, Delirious, and Reilly.
In June 2011, Goss released her first solo project of original songs written out of her passion for people to find refuge in God's love. Her songs "Refuge" and "King Jesus" have been played on WJTL FM 90.3, and, in October, "Refuge" made it into the Top 25 Countdown on the radio station. Goss' influences include Amy Grant, Janna Long, Natalie Grant, Crystal Lewis, and Darlene Zschech.
Goss has a heart for the broken, for people who have experienced deep pain and are seeking true healing and restoration. Through her own journey of dealing with pain and loss, she is now able to reach out to those who are hurting and help them find hope.
LVC students Sarah Herb '13 and Matthew Topping '13 will perform a worship set to open the concert along with friends Ryan Cagno '11 and Matt Ramage '14. Sarah (cello) and Matt (piano) have been performing together for more than five years and will feature the cello in a folk-driven acoustic performance. Matthew and Sarah are both double degree candidates and will graduate with a bachelor of science degree in music education and a bachelor of arts degree in music; Matthew with a concentration in piano and Sarah with a concentration in sacred music. The couple recently became engaged and look forward to graduating together in May.
The Chapel Concert Series will continue with A Night of Worship with He is Savior on April 24. Admission to the shows is free to LVC students with their college ID. Tickets for non-students are $6 in advance, $10 at the door. Advance orders for groups of 10 people or more are $4 per person and church youth group tickets are $2 per student.
