Lebanon Valley College to Host Author Karen Russell

ANNVILLE, PA (03/20/2013)(readMedia)-- Acclaimed author Karen Russell will present a reading from her publications at Lebanon Valley College Wednesday, April 10 at 7 p.m. in Mund College Center's Leedy Theater. Attendees will have the opportunity for Russell to sign their books after the reading. The event is free and open to the public.
Russell is the author of the short story collection, "St. Lucy's Home for Girls Raised by Wolves." Her second book and first novel, "Swamplandia!" made The New York Times "Ten Best Books of 2011" list and was long-listed for the Orange Prize 2011. The novel also won the New York Public Library's Young Lions Fiction Award.
Russell is currently the writer in residence for Bard College in New York.
Russell's reading is sponsored by the LVC English Department and the Green Blotter Society as part of the Agnes O'Donnell Poets & Writers series. The series was established by a gift of the late Agnes M. Boyle O'Donnell, professor emerita of English. She served the English Department from 1961 to 1987 and participated actively in college activities during her retirement. O'Donnell died in 2008.
