ANNVILLE, PA (05/14/2015)(readMedia)-- The Suzanne H. Arnold Art Gallery is proud to showcase the art of the region in the 44th Annual Juried Art Exhibition at Lebanon Valley College June 5 through 21. The opening reception for the exhibition is Friday, June 5 from 5 to 7 p.m.

This LVC tradition will feature a variety of paintings, drawings, sculpture, assemblage, and photographs. More than 200 entries are submitted each year, making this a highly competitive show that demonstrates the range of talent among regional artists.

This year's juror will be Charles Stainback, director of The Philip and Muriel Berman Museum of Art at Ursinus College. Stainback's areas of expertise are contemporary art and photography.

Stainback was the founding director of Skidmore College's Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery and was also a professor of liberal studies at the college. He previously served as Distinguished Visiting Graduate Professor in the Department of Photography/Film at Virginia Commonwealth. Additionally, Stainback was director of exhibitions for the International Center of Photography in N.Y. and director of the International Center of Photography Midtown in N.Y. He holds a bachelor of fine arts from Kansas City Art Institute and a master of fine arts from the Visual Studies Workshop of the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Gallery hours are Wednesdays from 5 to 8 p.m.; Thursdays and Fridays from 1 to 4:30 p.m.; Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and by appointment for groups.
