Catholic Immigrants in New Jersey & America
When: Thursday, July 9, 2009; 6:30-9:30 p.m.
Program: This lecture will explore some of the challenges faced by Catholic immigrants to the United States, as well as the contributions they have made, and the ongoing issues that affect American Catholic immigration today. Special attention will be paid to the New Jersey metropolitan area.
Lecturer: Reverend Monsignor Raymond Kupke, Ph.D., is an Adjunct Professor of Church History at Seton Hall University's Immaculate Conception Seminary School of Theology, Pastor of Holy Family Parish in Florham Park and the Paterson Diocesan Archivist. He has lectured on various historical religious topics in the New York metropolitan area and has edited, contributed to and authored publications on Church History.

Reviving Commitment in Marriage and Family
When: Wednesday, July 29, 2009; 6:30-9:30 p.m.
Program: This lecture will explore what has happened to the power of commitment in relationships and life choices. Do we see our commitments as obligations or free choices? How can we strengthen the choices that will bring us closer to God and one another in the commitments of our lives? This lecture will address these questions from the perspective of our rich Catholic spiritual heritage.
Lecturer: Reverend Vincent Fortunato, O.F.M., Cap., is an ordained priest with the Capuchin Franciscan Friars. He has served his community for 20 years in Formation Ministry and as Provincial Minister for six years. He teaches Spiritual Direction at Creighton University and at Immaculate Conception Seminary School of Theology. Fr. Fortunato also is a preacher for parish missions throughout the country.
