Libertarian Party Predicts Decades of Government Dependence.
Higher taxes, increased entitlements no solution.
ALBANY, NY (12/15/2008)(readMedia)-- The Libertarian Party of New York is denouncing the 2009-2010 budget proposal by Governor David Paterson. Citing the myopic proposal of increased entitlements and more tax increases, Chairman Eric Sundwall is asking that Albany not panic like Washington did earlier this year.
" It's clear that the solution is always more spending and taxation by most political players. As families face rising costs and no break in property, income or gas taxes, it's business as usual in Albany. It should come as no surprise as more and more New Yorkers abandon the State."
The 21st Century New Deal being proposed by Paterson and President-Elect Obama will only exacerbate the problem. Businesses will not invest with such uncertainty and two separate classes will eventually emerge. The net tax-payer and the net tax-consumer will be at fundamental odds. The only bailout New Yorkers should be calling for, is from this budget.
Sundwall concludes, "As difficult as Bush's occupations has made it to extend 'Empire' across the world, a new order of green bureaucrats and Wall St. handouts will not rejuvenate the Empire State. It's next to impossible for politicians to ride out a crisis without actually making it worse. "
In 2010, fifty thousand votes for the LPNY candidate for Governor will mean that hundreds of LP candidates can run for office and try to reduce waste and fraud in human action.
