Libertyville High School takes first and second place at MSOE

MILWAUKEE, WI (12/12/2011)(readMedia)-- Students from Libertyville High School in Libertyville, Ill., were among the best in Milwaukee School of Engineering's annual "OP"portunity Science Conference. Team A won first place and Team B won second place. The teams were coached by Pete Dawson and Dave Kreutz. The OP Conference gives high school students the opportunity to demonstrate excellence in academic pursuits. The competitions challenge the skills and abilities of students at all levels.

For the OP Science competition, teams of eight students completed individual tests in biology, chemistry and physics and also participated in a team event. Twenty-two teams competed this year and winners completed the tests with the most accuracy. Brookfield East High School (Brookfield, Wis.) took third place in the competition.

MSOE is an independent university with about 2,500 students.
