SCHENECTADY, NY (01/18/2013)(readMedia)-- Lindsay E. Degnan of Worcester, MA, has been selected as a Posse Scholar at Union College in Schenectady, NY.
The Posse Scholar program identifies public high school students with extraordinary academic and leadership potential. Union College is one of Posse's nearly 40 partner colleges and universities, each of which award four-year, full-tuition leadership scholarships to groups of 10 students – or Posses – annually.
Degnan, who attends the Doherty Memorial High School, was chosen after a rigorous selection process. She is an outstanding student who has challenged herself by taking more than a dozen honors and six AP courses. Degnan is class president, lacrosse team captain and a member of the Humanities Scholars Collaborative. She serves on the Worcester Youth Council where she participates on the safety commission and meets with local police officers to identify how to make positive change in the community.
