CAZENOVIA, NY (04/06/2012)(readMedia)-- The Cazenovia College Art Gallery in Reisman Hall is hosting the annual Bachelor of Fine Arts Exhibitions, now through May 1. The exhibition will include work by visual communications, studio art, photography and interior design degree candidates from Cazenovia College's Division of Art and Design.

Lindsey Matousek, of Liverpool, N.Y., is a candidate for a bachelor of fine arts degree in studio art at Cazenovia College. Her exhibition is titled "And All the Echoes in Your Head," from April 21 to 25, with a reception on April 21 from 5:30 pm to 7 p.m.

Matousek was born in Kansas City, Mo., in 1990; she was adopted and moved to Liverpool shortly after her birth. Although no one in her family is an artist, Matousek began to create art as soon as she could pick up a pencil. At Cazenovia College her focus has remained on painting all four years. Matousek expects to continue to graduate school either in the United States or the United Kingdom.

In her artist's statement, Matousek writes, "I have always been fascinated with the human mind and all aspects of psychology. My research has recently explored the subconscious and the archetypes of a personality introduced by Carl G. Jung. I enjoy depicting the innermost thoughts and feelings of the human race as a whole by warping and distorting the human figure in my paintings. I act as an antenna for the collective conscious, sharing this information in a way I hope the viewer can relate to. The viewer may connect with the piece on a variety of levels, visually communicating the viewer's and the artist's (my own) dialogue between our subconscious."
