WALESKA, GA (03/13/2013)(readMedia)-- Captain Sean Woods, a resident of Alpharetta, Ga., will be honored as a 10 Under 10 during Reinhardt University's Talon Awards Gala on March 21, 2013, at Northside United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Ga. This annual event honors distinguished alumni and dedicated members of the Reinhardt family.
10 under 10 Description
Each year Reinhardt University recognizes a group of 10 alumni from the last 10 years (2002 - 2012) who have been successful in business, the military, nonprofits, government, and/or the arts. These alumni are recognized at the annual Talon Awards Gala in March. A picture identifying each will hang in the Student Center as a reminder of what Reinhardt alumni have accomplished.
Captain Sean Woods '10 Background
As a child growing up in New York, Sean Woods dreamed of becoming a police officer. In 1995, this dream became a reality. When he first became a police officer, very few of his peers had college degrees, but as years passed, Sean realized that earning a degree would be instrumental in furthering his career. He graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Public Safety Leadership and Management from Reinhardt University in 2010. Sean has been in Law Enforcement for 18 years, fifteen of these years have been served in the City of Alpharetta where he was promoted to Captain in July of 2011. He enjoys the excitement of law enforcement and says that everyday is a different experience.
Sean has been married for 13 years to his wife, Lori. They have two children, seven year old Aidan and five month old Katie. In his spare time he volunteers as a soccer coach year round for a local recreation league. He is also training for a marathon and enjoys following his favorite football team, the New York Giants.
