WALESKA, GA (03/12/2014)(readMedia)-- Lindsey Boyd '04, a resident of Atlanta, Ga., will be honored as a 10 Under 10 during Reinhardt University's Talon Awards Gala on March 20, 2014, at The Bluffs in the Northside Hospital-Cherokee Conference Center in Canton, Ga. Boyd's Background
Boyd, a Canton, Ga. native, graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in History from Reinhardt in 2004. After graduation, she attended Emory University where she earned a Master of Arts in Teaching. She was placed at Roswell High School for her teaching internship, which quickly turned into a permanent job.
During her eight years with Roswell High School, she has been involved in various activities. She taught American Government, US History, Current Issues, and AP U.S. History. She was a mentor to freshman and worked on the School Improvement Plan, focusing on freshman success rates. For five years she was head of the Girls Soccer Program and coached the Varsity team to two state playoff appearances. She served as the Key Club sponsor for the past three years, and she helped to create the very first September 11th Memorial in 2013. Boyd was selected as the 2013 Teacher of the Year for Roswell High School. It was at Roswell where she met her husband, Ben.
10 Under 10 Description
The 10 Under 10 Award recognizes alumni who have graduated within the last 10 years and are successful in their professions. Portraits and information about the 10 Under 10 hang in the Hasty Student Life Center on Reinhardt's campus in Waleska, Ga. Each year a new group of 10 under 10 is selected.
