LaTanya Gilbert of Elizabeth, N.J., has been selected as the Central Penn College Student of the Month for December 2012.

SUMMERDALE, PA (12/06/2012)(readMedia)-- LaTanya Gilbert, of Elizabeth, N.J., has been named the Central Penn College student of the month for December. She is currently slated to graduate with her corporate communications bachelor's degree in the spring term of 2013.

"All of my courses have helped me become a better communicator," emphasizes Gilbert. "I am naturally an introvert, but this major has forced me out of my shell and aided me in communicating effectively."

Aside from making a difference in the world and in her career field, Gilbert's primary goal is to become a public relations specialist at a company that does not jeopardize her integrity. She intends to obtain that position through excelling at her internship. Her passions that fuel her humble goals are her siblings, her hunger for education and her exemplary work ethic.

Along with her education efforts, Gilbert is also one of Central Penn's talented student reporters and a returning student of Central Penn's Cultural Immersion Program in Australia. Her hobbies include extensive reading, and dancing, including being a 15-year participant in cotillion.

Gilbert maintains that Central Penn has taught her how to manage her time and network, and establish and nurture relationships with others, not just because they may be able to help her later in life, but because-as we are always learning-they may be able to teach her a little something new.
