Local Student Receives Award from Central Penn College

Tim Kearney accepts Central Penn College's C. Delores Tucker Award for Community Service at a Black History Month luncheon Feb. 6.

SUMMERDALE, PA (02/12/2013)(readMedia)-- Timothy Kearney of Jamaica N.Y., a Central Penn College criminal justice administration student, was awarded the C. Delores Tucker Award for Community Service. A staff member describes him as a "well-respected student and young gentleman." Also nominated due to his strong sense of moral character and joyful personality, Kearney is consistent in his assistance and guidance as a peer mentor and student tutor at study halls. He is a dependable work study student in the career services department, has made the Dean's List seven times and is a Craiger C. Parker Leadership Development Program participant. Kearney also served as a student ambassador.

Students are nominated by the faculty and staff of Central Penn. Kearney was one of four Central Penn College students awarded for their outstanding performance in the areas of academic excellence, community service, leadership and character during the college's Feb. 6 Black History Month luncheon.
