Local student earns prestigious art award from Randolph College

Lauren Shelton, of Forest, graduated from Randolph College on May 13, 2012 with a BA in studio art. Shelton is the daughter of Kenny and Judy Shelton of Forest. Shelton also received several prestigious awards and honors. She was awarded the Rachel Trexler Ellis '44 Art Prize for Excellence, and her artwork was showcased in the Senior Art Exhibition at Randolph College's Maier Museum of Art. Her work was also selected to appear in fall 2012 issue of The Jack, Randolph's literary magazine.
