Loomis Chaffee School to Inaugurate Summer Program
WINDSOR, CT (02/23/2012)(readMedia)-- With spring rapidly approaching and students and their parents beginning to look ahead to their summer plans, they have an exciting new enrichment experience to consider this year. The Loomis Chaffee School has launched a new summer opportunity for eager learners entering grades 7–12.
The five-week Loomis Chaffee Summer Program invites students from near and far to engage their minds and expand their horizons on the school's beautiful 300-acre campus in historic Windsor, Connecticut.
Conceived to provide eager and curious students with an opportunity to stimulate their minds and invigorate their bodies in a safe, comfortable, and well-equipped environment, the LC Summer Program aims to inspire its student body with small, experientially based classes; a variety of daily recreational activities; a diverse community of people from around the world; regular trips to area points of cultural and historical interest; and a talented and devoted faculty.
The program will run from June 27 to August 1. Students will enjoy a hands-on experience in our classrooms, labs, dance, and art studios as they pursue opportunities for learning and discovery in a variety of course offerings. The LC Summer Program encourages the exploration of both familiar and new subject matters in an atmosphere that inspires academic engagement, enrichment, and growth. Each student must take one of his or her three courses from our slate of writing courses. Faculty include members of the current Loomis Chaffee teaching community as well as other secondary school and college teachers. Outside of the classroom, students will engage in recreational activities using the school's extensive indoor and outdoor athletics facilities, have access to college guidance counseling, and participate in on- and off-campus activities. Weekend excursions include travel to local destinations, including Boston; New York City; Mystic, Connecticut; and the Rhode Island shore.
The LC Summer Program promises to provide an environment that combines the wonders of summer with the joys of learning.
