Eighteen student-athletes were recognized for their outstanding contributions to the success of the American International College (AIC) Department of Athletics at the 2023-24 Athletics Awards Night held in the Butova Gymnasium on Wednesday, April 24, 2024.
The Lt. Alvin J. Carocari Scholarship Award, named after the AIC alumnus who lost his life in service to the United States Navy during the Second World War, is presented to the male and female student-athletes who have made outstanding contributions to intercollegiate athletics at AIC.
Head Acrobatics and Tumbling Coach Patrick McFarlin presented the awards to men's cross country and track's Sadadine Adam and women's rugby's Venise Sanft. Adam was a national qualifier for the NCAA Division II Cross Country National Championship after earning All-Conference and All-Region honors. Sanft was named to the All-NIRA Team as a fullback for her outstanding play in helping women's rugby reach the NIRA Semifinal.
