Lung Association's Fight for Air Climb in Downtown Buffalo is March 10

Support Healthy Lungs and Clean Air by Climbing One HSBC Center

ALBANY, NY (02/09/2012)(readMedia)-- The American Lung Association in New York will host its second annual Fight for Air Climb in downtown Buffalo on Saturday, March 10 at 10 am. The Fight for Air Climb challenges participants to reach the 38th Floor of One HSBC Center – a total of 800 steps -- to raise awareness about lung disease.

Donations raised from the Fight for Air Climb will help fund critical research to treat, prevent and cure lung diseases; asthma education for families and schools; smoking prevention and cessation services and; clean air and tobacco control advocacy efforts at both the state and local level. Registration for the Fight for Air Climb is open online at the Fight for Air Climb website and through www.alany.org. Participants can sign up as an individual or form a team. Event sponsorships are still being accepted.

"The Lung Association is excited to be back in Buffalo for our second annual Fight for Air Climb," said Jeff Seyler, CEO of the American Lung Association in New York. "Far too many New Yorkers suffer from lung diseases like asthma, COPD and lung cancer. This event helps raise awareness and helps raise funds so we can prevent more suffering by finding better treatments and cures."

The Fight for Air Climb also includes a Firefighters Challenge where firefighters race against each other wearing turnout gear. Awards are given for the fastest firefighter and the fastest firefighting team.

The Lung Association is grateful to our Fight for Air Climb sponsors and supporters: Seneca One Realty LLC, owner and management of One HSBC Center and host of this year's Fight for Air Climb; media sponsors the Buffalo News, 103.3 The Edge, and WGRZ Channel 2; and event sponsors Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Phillips Lytle, LLP; M & T Bank and Rich Products. We also thank the Pearl Street Grill and Brewery who is generously hosting this year's post-event celebration and awards ceremony.
