DECORAH, IA (11/07/2013)(readMedia)-- Mary Maiden Mueller, a Luther College senior from Luck, Wis., will perform a voice recital at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, in the Noble Recital Hall of the Jenson-Noble Music Hall on the Luther campus.
Maiden Mueller, the daughter of Mary and Spike Maiden Mueller of Luck, is majoring in English and minoring in music and classical studies at Luther. She is a 2010 graduate of Luck High School.
Maiden Mueller will perform songs by Samuel Barber, Gabriel Faurè, Mozart, Antonio Vivaldi and Robert Schumann.
A reception will follow the performance. Both the recital and reception are open to the public with no charge for admission.
Maiden Mueller is a student of Jacob Lassetter, Luther assistant professor of music. She will be accompanied by Luther senior Charles Hoeft and her recital partner is Meggie DeJong, Luther senior.
Luther is home to one of the largest collegiate music programs in the nation with six choirs, three orchestras, three bands, two jazz bands and nearly 1,000 student musicians.
Luther students participate in large ensembles, faculty-coached chamber groups, private lessons and master classes. More than 350 music majors study music theory, ear training, history, education, composition, church music and performance.
