DECORAH, IA (05/15/2013)(readMedia)-- Nellie Herold of Fort Atkinson, Iowa, will have her work on display May 7-19 in the Kristen Wigley-Fleming Gallery in the Center for the Arts building on the Luther College campus.
A reception will be held for the artists just outside of the exhibit in the Center for the Arts at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 18. The reception is open to the public with no charge for admission.
Herold, the daughter of Paul and Penny Herold of Fort Atkinson, is majoring in art at Luther. She is a 2009 graduate of Turkey Valley High School.
Herold will be exhibiting a collection of digital photographs from her senior art show at Luther. The works shown by Herold were created by layering multiple photographs of common objects found throughout the home to create abstract, surreal and ethereal images.
The annual exhibit is held to give students graduating with an art major the opportunity to present a sample of their entire senior project one final time while in college. The exhibit features a variety of works including painting, sculpture, photography, collage, video and mixed-media installation pieces.
The student exhibitors include Maseeh Ahmed, Kurt Bearinger, Sophia Brown, Ingrid Cologne, Eric Hild, Katelyn Kluge, Robby Scott, Emily Temte, Emily Voss and Rose Weselmann.
