Mothers Against Media Addiction (MAMA), city and state officials, New York teens and parents are rallying outside of Meta offices in support of putting kids before big tech and legislative efforts like the Stop Addictive Feeds for Kids Act (SAFE) and the New York Child Data Protection Act.
Countless studies have connected excessive screen time with negative mental health effects in youth, and parents say enough is enough. Parents believe that we need legislation and policies that would prevent social media giants from using two of their most harmful tools - addictive algorithms and data collection – against kids.
