The Math Club took 22 students to the Shenandoah Undergraduate Mathematics and Statistics (SUMS) Conference at James Madison University in September. The students were Jasmine-Lycurgus Truitt, Sarah Webb, Rachael Bailey, Corinne Weeks, Clara Liddick, Kate Dickinson, Sarah Mosinski, Kendall Timmons, Gabrielle Bolen, Alora Wogsland, Lydia Hurt, Mariame Dembele, Shari Moody, Asyra Cunningham, Spencer Sigtryggsson, Phoenix Wilson, Anna Wright, Allie Brown, Shayna Jackson, Alayah Austin, Jan Edlene Miguel, and Shamika McCoy.
SUMS at JMU is an annual conference promoting undergraduate research in mathematics, statistics, and their applications. It features contributed undergraduate research talks, invited talks aimed at a general undergraduate math audience, a poster session, and panels about graduate school, undergraduate research, and math careers.
