AIKEN, SC (11/14/2018) The University of South Carolina Aiken is collecting nonperishable food items for students at Warrenville Elementary School. On Friday, Nov. 16, at 11:30 a.m., student leaders from USC Aiken will deliver individual backpacks full of food to the elementary students in Warrenville.

This effort is part of Warrenville Elementary's Backpack Buddy Program, which provides young students with food during the weekends and school breaks.
As part of its annual One Table feast the day before, USC Aiken faculty, staff, and students, will collect canned goods and prepackaged foods so Warrenville's youngest eaters have enough food to last through the Thanksgiving holiday. One Table provides the entire campus community a chance to come together for a Thanksgiving-style lunch, enjoyed in the university's cafeteria.
As part of the visit to Warrenville Elementary, the college students will read books to and visit with the younger ones.
