ALBANY, NY (07/23/2026) (readMedia)-- On Friday at 11 AM, Rebuild by Design will hold a media briefing to walk through the findings of their new report, Paying for Resilience in NYS, a first-of-its-kind statewide inventory that identifies $519 billion of spending needed to prepare New York for the effects of climate change. The findings of the report, compiled in collaboration with the New York State Adaptation Practitioner's Network, underscore the enormous challenge facing New York as communities contend with worsening extreme weather and aging infrastructure, and its disruptions and costs to New Yorkers' livelihoods. Following a walk-through of the report, NYPIRG will discuss how the Big Oil companies responsible for climate change can help pay the bill before costs balloon for taxpayers.
