Maegan Clearwood of Middletown Participates in Senior Reading

CHESTERTOWN, MD (05/02/2013)(readMedia)-- Washington College is pleased to announce that Maegan Clearwood '13 of Middletown, MD, recently participated in the College's annual Senior Reading, sponsored by the Rose O'Neill Literary House. She enjoys writing "about real people-their lives, passions [and] strengths" and works in the genres of journalism and creative nonfiction.

Clearwood is an English and Drama double major with a creative writing minor who graduated from Middletown High School. She has worked on the editorial staff of the Washington College Elm newspaper for four years; this past year she served as its editor-in-chief. Clearwood is also a member of the Douglass Cater Society of Junior Fellows and of the Phi Beta Kappa, Sigma Tau Delta and Omicron Delta Kappa honor societies. She has been active in Writer's Union and the Writer's Theatre.

Clearwood recently served as the dramaturg for The Tragedy of King Lear. Her work has been featured in The Kent County News, The Herald-Mail, the WC Review and the Washington College Magazine.
