ALBANY, NY (01/30/2014)(readMedia)-- Thomas A. Reed of Manhattan is the new chair of the 1,630–member Corporate Counsel Section of the New York State Bar Association.

Reed is a legal consultant assisting companies with commercial contracts. He is a former in-house counsel for numerous telecommunications companies.

A 42-year member of the State Bar Association, Reed chaired the Corporate Counsel Section from 2002-2003. He most recently was chair-elect of the Corporate Counsel Section. He is a member of the House of Delegates.

Reed is a graduate of Haverford College and earned his law degree from University of Pennsylvania School of Law.

The 75,000-member New York State Bar Association is the largest voluntary state bar association in the nation. It was founded in 1876.
