Yuichiro Anzai, president of Keio University and Richard Berman, president of Manhattanville College, signed an academic linkage agreement this afternoon at Manhattanville College.

PURCHASE, NY (09/05/2007)(readMedia)-- An agreement was signed on September 4th between Manhattanville College and Keio University in Japan to foster educational cooperation between the two institutions of higher learning.

While the details have yet to be spelled out, initiatives might include a student exchange program, joint research activities, and a sharing of scientific information.

Manhattanville President Richard Berman says, “What makes this agreement unique is that it involves three schools. It includes Keio Academy.” Manhattanville has a unique connection with Keio.

The Keio Academy of New York, an elite Japanese high school, shares a plot of land with Manhattanville, literally a soccer field away. “Sometimes we travel all around the world and don’t take advantage of our neighbors,” says Berman.

Professor Yuichiro Anzai, President of Keio, is excited about the educational possibilities, saying they signify, “Future cooperation between two countries and the whole world.”
