LATHAM, NY (04/02/2013)(readMedia)-- Division of Military and Naval Affairs employee Maria Gallerie, an Averill Park resident, has been awarded the agency's Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of her service as the agency responded to Hurricane Sandy.

Gallerie, who works for the DMNA Office of Budget and Finance, played a key role in purchasing supplies that were used by the more than 4,500 members of the New York National Guard who responded to the emergency. The purchasing team which Bik belongs to processed more than 1,000 transactions to ensure that National Guard Soldiers and Airmen had the supplies and equipment they needed on time in order to serve their fellow New Yorkers. Her work was exemplary according to her citation.
