Central Penn College student Marissa Monteiro is named to the USCAA Division II National All-Academic Team

SUMMERDALE, PA (03/27/2013)(readMedia)-- Marissa Monteiro, of Belleville, N.J., a Central Penn College legal studies / paralegal student, was named to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Division II National All-Academic Team. Players are nominated by coaches and selected by the USCAA.

Monteiro has been playing with the Lady Knights for two years. Averaging 4.3 rebounds per game, she is known for her aggressive defensive play. Monteiro is very involved around campus, serving as the current Student Government Association president and the Central Penn Lady Knights team captain.

"She is academically focused and a leader on and off the court," says Central Penn Athletic Director Ed Liesch.

Monteiro is slated to graduate next year with hopes of attending law school.
