POTSDAM, NY (10/09/2014)(readMedia)-- Community Performance Series will bring a rising star to Potsdam for the 15th Annual Ranlett Organ Recital. This year's guest artist is concert organist Caroline Robinson.

The performance will take place on Sunday, Oct. 19 at 3 p.m., in the Helen M. Hosmer Concert Hall at SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music. A free organ encounter demonstration will also be offered the day before the recital, on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 3 p.m., also in Hosmer Hall.

A Fulbright Scholar, Robinson has studied at esteemed institutions, including the Curtis Institute of Music and the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Toulouse in France. In addition to her studies on the organ, Robinson also works with harpsichord and piano.

Robinson's upcoming performance will include works by Eugene Gigout, Robert Schumann, Johann Sebastian Bach, Marcel Dupré, Jehan Alain and Joseph Jongen.

"We are very excited to be hosting such a talented and successful young artist. A special thank you to SUNY Potsdam professors emeriti Dr. John and Dr. Judith Ranlett for making her visit possible," said CPS Executive Director Amy Flack.
