McMurry Women's Swimming Earns Academic Accolades

McMurry University's women's swim team is among the 688 teams that have earned the distinction of Scholar All-America Team for the Fall 2017 semester from the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America. The teams represent a total of 430 institutions from across all NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA divisions.

To earn the honor, teams were required to post a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the Fall Semester. Under head coach Casey Pacheco - in his first season at the War Hawks' helm - the McMurry ladies compiled a team grade point average of 3.08 for the recently-completed fall semester.

"We are proud of these ladies and all the hard work they put in each and every day," Pacheco said. "Their dedication and effort shines in the classroom, as well as the pool."

McMurry will next compete at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference championships on February 14-17 at the East Side Natatorium in The Colony, Texas.
