McMurry's Sczech Earns ASC Weekly Men's Soccer Award

A big time effort against McMurry University's crosstown rival has earned freshman Jordan Sczech(Spring Branch, Texas/Canyon Lake H.S.) the American Southwest Conference co-Offensive Player of the Week honors, it has been announced.

Sczech scored what may have been one of McMurry's most memorable goals in well over a decade. In the 63rd minute of last Saturday's match at Hardin-Simmons, Sczech took a pass from Rafael Lara and found the back of the net in the War Hawks' 1-0 win over the Cowboys on their home turf.

It was McM's first men's soccer win over HSU since 2003. Sczech's goal snapped a 13-match drought versus the Cowboys.

Sczech made the most out of his time in the HSU match, taking just one shot and making it count. On the year, Sczech is the War Hawks' leader with six goals scored, including two match-winning goals.
