WHAT: A ground breaking to celebrate the start of construction on a project to begin the reconstruction of the Kew Gardens Interchange in Queens, improving safety and reducing congestion for 500,000 drivers a day.
WHO: New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) Acting Commissioner Stanley Gee. Invited to participate are Congressmen Gregory Meeks and Anthony Weiner, State Senators Malcolm Smith, Shirley Huntley, Frank Padavan and Tobi Ann Stavisky, Assembly Members Vivian Cook, Andrew Hevesi, Rory Lancman and Nettie Mayersohn, Queens Borough President Helen Marshall, and City Council Members Leroy Comrie, Jr., James Gennaro, Karen Koslowitz and Thomas White, Jr.

From Eastern Queens:
Take Queens Boulevard to just before Queens Borough Hall at 84th Road. The event site is at the northwest intersection of 84th Road and Queens Boulevard.
Subway:
Take the E or F train to the Briarwood/Van Wyck Blvd. station. The event site is adjacent to the station, across 84th Road from the Queens Library branch.
